Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin is a residential hospice in Elgin County offering end-of-life care at no cost.
We support exceptional care at end-of-life.
What is a Hospice Residence?
Residential hospice care is a specialized service focused on improving the comfort, dignity, and quality of life for individuals as they approach the end of their life. Learn more about our facility and how to apply for admission.
While our programs are free for the community, they’re not free to provide and we rely on the community as part of our funding model. Learn more about donating, or hosting a community fundraising event.
This Boxing Day, we’re grateful for the most meaningful gifts of all, your compassion and support.
Every donation, every act of kindness, helps us care for our community.
For many, the holidays bring both joy and longing.
We hold space for every memory, every story, and every loved one missed.
May you find comfort in reflection and warmth in connection this season.
Supportive Steps is a gentle grief walking group where you can move at your own pace, connect with others, and feel supported every step of the way.
Thursdays at 10:30 AM starting January 15
Our cups are overflowing today…
Spearheaded by the Faith Club, the school community at Monsignor Morrison Catholic School shared such beautiful kindness, creating and delivering comfort baskets for our residents and a generous donation for our Canoe Café.
Moments like this remind us that compassion has no age, and that community truly shows up when it matters most. We are so deeply grateful for the love and care that surrounds us.
Because of you, our hospice is filled with warmth.
Because of you, families find peace.
Because of you, love continues to shine, even in the hardest moments.
Thank you for bringing light to our halls and hearts this season.
Our hearts are full! Thank you to Lift Lighting, Railway City Rotary Club, Family Flowers, Tim Hortons South Edgeware, Briwood Farm Market, The Lunch Bunch Choir, and Janice McClenaghan for making our Light the Way event so magical. From beautiful music and festive treats to a cozy photo booth and the glow of the lights, your support brought warmth and joy to our community.
Our halls are glowing a little brighter this season thanks to the lovely holiday décor thoughtfully staged by community members from Berry Hill, Harvest Table, Family Flowers, Spare Moments, Joshua & Company, Fauxliage and Flower Fountain. Your kindness fills our building with such warmth.
